The 2019-20 U.S. National Sled Hockey Team went 6-0-0-0-1 (W-OTW-OTL-L-T) and secured its sixth-straight Para Hockey Cup title and tournament-record eighth in the event's 13-year history (2019, 2018, 2017, 2016 (Dec.), 2016 (Jan.), 2015, 2012 and 2009). 

David Hoff (Bottineau, N.D.), who led the United States to the gold medal at the 2019 Para Ice Hockey World Championship in Ostrava, Czech Republic last season, served as head coach of the national team for his second season. 

Tryouts for the 2019-20 U.S. National Sled Hockey Team took place July 13-14 at Northtown Center in Amherst, N.Y. where over 60 players participated. The roster was named on July 18, 2019 and included 15 returnees from the 2018-19 U.S. National Sled Hockey Team that claimed Team USA’s fourth gold medal in world championship history at the 2019 Para Ice Hockey World Championship in Ostrava, Czech Republic. 

Team USA opened international play at the 2019 Canadian Tire Para Hockey Cup in Paradise, Newfoundland, where it went 5-0-0-0 to claim an unprecedented sixth-straight title at that event, including two wins against Canada. 

On Jan. 30, players and staff met in Indian Trail, North Carolina for its final training camp of the season, leading up to the Sled Series vs. Canada. The team reconvened Feb. 11-16 in Elmira, Ontario for its two-game series against Canada, where Game 1 resulted in a 2-2 draw and Team USA claimed Game 2, 2-0. 

Throughout the season, the U.S. held training camps in Allentown, Pennsylvania, Falmouth, Massachusetts and Indian Trail, North Carolina.
