The 2020 IIHF Under-18 Women's World Championship took place Dec. 26-Jan 2 in Bratislava, Slovakia, where the U.S. won three of its four preliminary-round games to earn the second second in Group A and a bye for the quarterfinals. In the semifinals, the U.S. defeated Russia, 3-0, to advance to the gold-medal game. In the gold-medal matchup with Canada, the U.S. used an overtime game-winner from Kiara Zanon and 31 saves from Skylar Vetter to claim gold in thrilling fashion.
